Finance and Accounting Intern

May - August 2019 • Franklin, TN

What I liked

I enjoyed interning at Nissan North America this summer. I was assigned an issue within the Specialized Accounting department, and my project was to create efficiency to my department. Because of the hands-on experience, I feel like I have absolute leverage against my peers. I worked in SAP, Excel, and Microsoft all summer and my skills are continuing to flourish. There is a lot of networking involved, so be ready to be comfortable with your elevator speech.

What I wish was different

I don't think anything needed to be different. It was an amazing experience and I am so honored to have been chosen to intern here.

Advice

I advise you to always continue to network each week here. I met more people in other areas than mine, because of the connections I have made.

Engineering Intern

May - August 2019 • Decherd, TN

What I liked

It was a great program for the interns. The company put a lot of effort into making sure we had a good experience while we were there. There were a of planned events to meet with other interns from around the Middle TN Area. Also getting to drive a fancy new 2019 Altima all summer was quite nice to say the least.

What I wish was different

I wish that I could have been there longer than 12 weeks to really get my feet wet on some bigger projects.

Advice

Make the most of it. Attend all the intern events that you can. They are a great way to make connections with other prospective engineers.

What I wish was different

It was too far from home.
