This is an incredible company to work for. I enjoyed the independence I was given in terms of my projects, and the ability I had to freely explore any areas of interest. The staff was very welcoming and I would encourage any students interested in manufacturing to apply.
What I wish was different
I wish I had more time but I understand that it is a summer internship. There are so many moving parts in manufacturing and it is hard to explore every one of my areas of interest within 12 weeks.
Advice
Come in with an open mind and be prepared to ask as many questions as possible. The team members are more than willing to answer any questions you may have and appreciate the interest in their day to day.

I.T./Cybersecurity Intern
May - August 2023 • Diamond Bar, CA
What I liked
I liked the morality and goals at Niagara, like L.I.F.E.(Lead like an owner, InnovAct every day, find a way, and empowered to be great.) The people are all incredibly kind, and the office is incredible.
What I wish was different
I just wish that the role was more involved in terms of learning from experienced people who work there.
Lots of people and not a lot of space.
Advice
Shifting to an 'early-day' schedule is incredibly useful as you can be incredibly productive when you're not bothered by events/other time-consuming tasks.

Manufacturing Intern
May - August 2022 • Houston, TX
What I liked
I liked how Niagara allowed me to start my own projects. Taking ownership of my work and learning about what I found interesting really helped me understand manufacturing in a new way.
What I wish was different
I wish I had been given more opportunities to work on larger projects. Small CI projects are good for learning, but not very comprehensive.
Advice
Come into an internship wanting to take initiative on projects and make an effort to step out of your comfort zone. What you get out of an internship depends on what you put into it.

Sustainability Intern
March - September 2021 • Los Angeles, CA
What I liked
Great flexibility with work hours, Great boss, really good work culture similar to a small business. Great pay. Pretty good networking for interns, i.e. I had an amazing mentor.
What I wish was different
Within the sustainability department, you really get thrown into the fire with little direction which is difficult. My project was pretty overwhelming/large and there's a lot of work with very little direction in the department. Also sustainability is difficult with no clear return offer/HR process for that
Advice
Manage your own time and schedule effectively. Reach out to people who can help you get organized.

Talent Aquisition Intern
May 2021 • Diamond Bar, CA
What I liked
I like how I am given so much freedom and trust in my internship. I feel my opinion is valued and really enjoy the work I am doing. My hours are flexible and my boss is very kind and understanding. I worked virtually (COVID), however later got the chance to visit HQ in Diamond Bar with all of my expenses paid for. I loved getting to meet everyone in person and to witness the culture in person.
What I wish was different
I struggled at first with how much independence I had in my internship. I was so used to always being told what to do in previous jobs. After I adjusted, my independence became my favorite part of the internship because it feels like a real corporate job where you have independence and responsibility.
Advice
If you want a high-impact internship where you will be given independence and responsibility, apply to Niagara. Know that there will be some uneasy-ness in the beginning due to the fact that Niagara's internships are unlike others. Be prepared for a fast-paced environment, and be ready to learn!

Supply Chain Planning Intern
June 2021 • Diamond Bar, CA
What I liked
I loved the hands-on projects I was assigned. I learned so much about supply chain that I would not learn in class. Niagara empowers you to own your internship experience and develop skills of interest. Also, Niagara is a unique company because of its culture. Every employee upholds Niagara LIFE values and is valued. This culture fosters growth and innovation. Overall, this is a great company!
What I wish was different
Due to COVID-19, my internship was remote. I would have preferred to be in person but the company did its best to help me network and have a great experience from home.
Advice
The value of your experience is up to you. Network with people outside your group, don't be afraid to ask questions, and be honest with your manager about your goals for the internship/job.

Technical Service Intern
May - July 2021 • Temple, TX
What I liked
Everyone at the plant and on my team was incredibly friendly. I felt like I had all the support I needed to complete my project, and that if I had needed any more then they would have been there for that too. I learned so much, and it was great to see the units I had learned the theory behind and how they're used in industry. I also had a lot of fun outside of work, like traveling to Dallas to meet the other interns on my team or going to dinner with a Vice President of the company.
What I wish was different
I wish I had been able to travel like my team does instead of relocating, but that was mostly because the place I stayed wasn't great.
Advice
Network like crazy if you're interested in returning full time (and you should be, it's an amazing company). Everyone I talked to was open to telling me about their role and their team, and that helped me figure out where I wanted to end up

Systems Engineering Intern
May - July 2020 • Diamond Bar, CA
What I liked
They have an amazing internship program not only where you get to work on your own project and present it to the company but they also have Professional Development events for all interns. They have an entire week dedicated to the interns and building their network and experience the Niagara LIFE culture.
What I wish was different
I wish the internship wasn't moved to be remotely but because of COVID-19 I was lucky that they didn't cancel the internship.
Advice
Meet as many people in different departments.

Very friendly management who helped guide interns with their projects. I always felt like I had the full support of other employees.

Quality Assurance Intern
May 2019 • Ontario, CA
What I liked
The environment was great both at corporate and in the plant. I had complete ownership of my project which allowed me to learn a lot and get great experience, but I also had the support I needed to be succeed. I really appreciated the family company mentality and desire to do anything to stay away from a large corporate feel.
What I wish was different
As expected there is a little disconnect between corporate and plants, but they're always working to improve it.
Advice
If you need any help just reach out to others around you, everyone I worked around was extremely willing to help but had to know what you need.

Packaging Intern
June - September 2017 • Ontario, CA
What I liked
The Packaging team is multiple Cal Poly alum, so they know exactly what you learn and will cater the internship experience to that.
What I wish was different
I was the only packaging intern on the team, so at times, it pushed me to get to know my coworkers more. It would have been enjoyable to have someone in the same shoes who could relate to my position though.
Advice
Ask questions because you don't know everything as you go into the internship. Your mentors/managers are there to give you a sense of what the corporate culture is like and ultimately learn.
