What I liked
The employees trusted me with the same tasks and responsibilities they had. I was trusted with reading case files, writing reports, and taking notes during conferences involving attorneys and their clients.
What I wish was different
I wish there had been a little more hands-on experience. A lot of the internship was desk work and answering phone calls.
Advice
Don't get frustrated if things seem to start out slow. Everyone has to start at the bottom and work their way to the top. And it's also important to remember that experience is more important than money, so don't automatically rule out unpaid internships.
