“My main responsibility in this job was to use engineering judgement to decide what traffic devices should be used in order to solve a problem the public noticed or were concerned with. When I started this internship I imagined myself being stuck behind a desk helping draft work orders for residencies to fulfill. Although that was one of my bigger responsibilities I was actually able to go out and do the actual field work myself, finding the data that I would be using to make decisions on how traffic devices should be used from scenario to scenario. Beyond just wielding the responsibility of performing this work by myself I was able to see much of the region of New York that I was raised around in a new light and got to see all new corners of New York as a whole.”
