New York Life is a very large private company that takes pride in the commitment the employees make to the company as well as the strong family culture that is embedded into it. There are many opportunities to grow internally, as I have had the experience to meet and work individuals from various departments, opening up to me about how they started in a completely different role/department years before.
What I wish was different
I wish Iw ould have begun my internship experience sooner, I have learned more in the past 6 months Intenring than I have in most of my classes. Nothing ocmpares to real life work expeirence.
Advice
Don't be afraid to ask questions. When I first started, I was very intimidated by the "corporate lingo", the abbreviations and terminologies that are of second nature to my colleauges but are still challenging to fully understand. The only way to prevent getting lost
