What I liked

I liked interacting with customers and giving them an enjoyable shopping experience.

What I wish was different

I wish that I lived closer. The commute became a hassle.

Advice

In order to work in retail one must have a lot of patience to deal with individuals who are not easy to work with or assist.

What I liked

Other sales associates were fun and friendly to work with.

What I wish was different

Basically everything else. Unsure how this location compares to other stores, but it was huge and we never had enough staff. Depending on the day and the manager assigned we could be closing the store past midnight... when the store closes to customers at 9 pm (because we were always understaffed). Retail sucks in general but we had a really high turnover because it particularly sucked here.

Advice

Remember that corporations don't care about your wellbeing, lol.

What I liked

I liked learning about retail and fashion. Also, I got to shadow as a Sales Lead which gave me a further look into how a business is managed.

What I wish was different

I wish there were full time positions.

It is a fast paced store so you need to be on your toes; there’s always something to do.

What I liked

I like the environment because I am able to share my ideas of style with customers, and I really enjoy it when they love what I offer them and walk out happy. It is pretty easy, fun, and there is something new every week.

What I wish was different

Advice

I would say to be confident in yourself. I know talking to many different people can be intimidating sometimes, but I personally feel that working has me less shy. I am not as afraid to talk to someone about the sales, the clothes and my personal favorite items, our credit card offers, etc.
