Network with as many individuals as possible. There are plenty of opportunities to meet people and have lunch with them. Similarly, build a relationship with the other interns within your department and throughout the office.

What I liked
I worked with many high knowledgable individuals. Though I don't want to work in education, I learned a lot about working in a professional setting and making connections across all fields.
What I wish was different
I wish the internship program mimicked the real work force a little better, us interns spent a good chunk of time with each other each week as opposed to in meetings or doing constructive work.
Advice
Be open to all the opportunities you get. You'll get the chance to meet people in high levels of NJ government, and it's important to stay professional as often as possible.
