What I liked

I liked all the people that I met at Networks Connect, always striving to be better. I like the recruiting process as Mallory and Alex do a good job training you the first week. I also like scheduling to fill shifts.

What I wish was different

Nothing.

Advice

Be ready to make a lot of calls, and don’t be worried about the work as it is easy to learn.

What I liked

It was always a joy to wake up and go to work. Every day you learned something new. The entire staff all around made you feel welcomed from the minute you walked in the door for your interview. During the course of the internship, you will learn and be given a variety of tasks and roles that consist of recruiting, scheduling, business development, compliance, and sourcing. Management did a fantastic job in teaching the fundamentals and improvisation that the internship entails and they were always available whenever assistance was required with any aspect at any time during the day. The business account managers, schedulers, and compliance department were equally as helpful and the mentorship that they provided when working on their teams is always constructive, elevating, and beneficial. Celebrations are common in this office with each new milestone and benchmark set or obtained. This is a unique and special business. It only continues to grow and break barriers in the industry in the short amount of time that it's been in operation.

What I wish was different

Nothing at all.

Advice

When you come in to work your not just part of a business but also a part of a family. Come in with a positive mindset and be the best teammate you can be and don't ever hesitate to ask a question of for help whenever needed. Each day is different from the last so don't ever feel that you will be doing the same thing regularly, always keep an open mind.

What I liked

I loved the people I worked with, there was no one I found unpleasant- everyone was a delight. The company culture here is truly unique and I loved it. I also know that there are a lot of opportunities to grow at this job as well, and I would recommend working here to anyone.

What I wish was different

I am not sure what to put here exactly because my experience was so positive, and I learned so much. I guess I wished I had my sales skills developed more before jumping right into business development, but outside of that I would not change anything, it was an all-around great experience and opportunity.

Advice

Being social and bubbly is not a requirement, but the more outgoing you are and more you talk with your team/people around you, the more you will get out of this internship. That isn't to say that it is hard, it is really easy because everyone is so cool, but being too quiet or cautious may hinder the experience.

Recruiting Intern

What I liked

Networks Connect is a great employer that goes by the "work hard, play hard" motto. The young company knows have to have a fun work environment while buckling down and getting to business when it is time. The internship provided several roles including recruiting and scheduling healthcare professionals as well as some experience with business development as we reached out to potential clients to partner with.

What I wish was different

I wish I had more practice/training with cold calling as I was not very comfortable in the beginning. Over time calling these professionals became more natural to do. Overall there is not much that I wish would have been different with this internship, Mallory and Alex were both great supervisors that answered any questions I had without fail throughout the job.

Advice

One piece of advice that I would share to others about this job is to have an open mind going into the job. You do not necessarily need to have a background in healthcare management. This experience can allow for you to gain valuable skills including professional communication, time management, organization, leadership, reliability, as well as several other skills.
