What I liked

I liked the feeling of a personal connection with my direct boss because it helped with working tasks each day. I liked the exposure to company documents that pertained to HR functions.

Working with a group of interns rather than solo

Stay true to yourself, and work as a hard as you can with whats in front of you!

Product Development Co-Op

What I liked

I loved that everyone at this company is so nice, welcoming, and enthusiastic about teaching the interns and co-ops. My manager and other supervisors took high priority in exceeding my expectations of learning during my time here. Even Human Resources made sure to take care of me. Housing was taken care of, many events were placed to encourage socialization of interns, and they were always happy to provide resources for things to do or attractions to see.

What I wish was different

I wish I had come later in my academic career because I feel that I could have been even more challenged if I had the right knowledge, whereas now I see where the knowledge I have yet to obtain prevents me from excelling any further.

Advice

It is very important for people to understand that it is good to ask questions and for new opportunities. It's understandable why some people are intimidated by asking questions, but it can only benefit you so do not be afraid! If anything, your ambition to learn shows when you ask questions, and this makes a mark on your supervisor! And if there is ever a shortage of work for you to do, don't be afraid (or too lazy) to ask for more work to do and keep an open mind to try a new department and/or shadow someone.
