National Organization for Women

Government Relations Intern

January - May 2022 • Washington, DC

What I liked

My experience at NOW was amazing! I had the incredible opportunity to attend congressional hearings participate in various coalition meetings. I felt that all of my tasks and assignments were genuinely meaningful. I also was able to publish my writing on the official NOW website! Additionally, ll of the staff were extremely warm and welcoming! Great experience overall.

What I wish was different

For the number of hours I was working, the stipend was on the lower side. Other than that, I have no complaints - the experience was amazing!

Advice

Be prepared to dedicate ample time and effort to this internship! NOW's mission is extremely important and ever-relevant. Even as an intern, there is a lot of responsibility that comes along with working on pressing women's rights issues.
