What I wish was different

Advice

English Teacher

May - August 2018 • Tianjin, People's Republic of China

What I liked

I was thrown in the classroom and challenged to find my teaching style very quickly. I had a lot of experience in the classroom and discovered that I really wanted to be a teacher.

What I wish was different

Because I found this internship through personal means, everything was under the table. I didn't know there was another English teacher there and he was teaching in a different way and I wish we could have worked together.

Advice

I suggest getting all the information about pay and living situations and expectations before signing a contract.
