What I liked

The atmosphere is great! They are very flexible with working hours, there were a lot of events planned for the interns and a big intern project. They are also very environmentally friendly which was important to me. Great cafeteria too!

What I wish was different

The pay (for interns) compared to other companies of this size and reputation could be better.

Advice

Always write a cover letter even if they don't require it.

Financial Strategic Management and Underwriting Support Intern

May - August 2017 • Princeton, NJ

What I liked

Great internship program. Worked with 30 other interns on multiple projects which included raising money for a local charity and teaching financial literacy to school children. We also had weekly speakers from all different departments who explained the work they did. The main work I did was engaging and enjoyable. I was given real work and was able to share my input at meetings. Also the campus is amazing with great food and a full fitness center. Overall I learned a lot of relevant work experience and made some great friends along the way.

What I wish was different

The first part of the internship was lonely as I knew none of the other interns. Would be nice to have a meetup or social hour at the beginning. Some of the projects to a long time to get moving and didn't feel very fast paced.

Advice

Make the most of the speaker series and network as much as possible during your time at Munich Re.

HR Associate Intern

May - September 2018 • Princeton, NJ

What I liked

Very friendly and helpful coworkers and manager, relaxed environment, and beautiful campus.

What I wish was different

A lot of the employees are older, so an intern can feel a bit out of place.

Advice

Talk to as many people as you can, and take advantage of learning opportunities.
