I love working with the youth camps. The kids are so cute and I love working with them. In addition, my coworkers are super sweet as well. It is overall, a very fun environment. Plus I get to teach what I love doing -- sailing!
What I wish was different
Some days are sometimes a bit more difficult if we are missing some staff members, but generally the sailing center runs quite smoothly.
Advice
Be prepared to work with a variety of different personalities and weather conditions. It is imperative to know how to problem solve quickly. This job requires a lot of patience and sympathy/empathy. Know how to approach problems appropriately and find solutions. If you are ever uncertain feel free to ask Collin or Ted (the bosses). Collin and Ted are both super friendly, helpful, and understanding people.
