My colleagues were friendly and approachable but also professional, so I learned a lot from them. Everyone was fully aware of the difficulty of the job, so there were a lot of "pick-me-ups" throughout my time with them, including birthday celebrations and random thank-you celebrations.

Stay organized with the paperwork you handle, dress appropriately, and get to know the school you're working at. Clerical staff is often mediators for administrative staff, so it is highly important to know your coworkers, the school's policies, and the school itself. On top of all this, you are also representing the school itself, so be presentable and engaging during your interactions.
