Metigoshe Ministries is a year round ELCA ministry which operates a both a year-round conference & retreat center and a summer camp near Bottineau, ND.
At our conference & retreat center, we typically serve around 7,000 guests each year; although with our recently-opened expansion we expect that number to grow in the coming years. Owned by over 70 Lutheran congregations from the area, Metigoshe Ministries has a long history of serving not only faith-based groups but also partnering with other businesses and organizations in the area to provide a level of comfort and hospitality that is unparalleled in the region.
For our summer camp, each year we seek to hire around 50 summer staff members who are college aged. While we are an ELCA organization, we are very open to having staff members from other faith backgrounds who want to join in our mission and ministry. Seasonal positions include camp counselor, support staff, and programmatic staff (our leadership staff). We also offer internships that are tailored to the individual student's needs. In the past we have had interns for obvious things such as outdoor ministry or religion, but have also had some not so obvious internship opportunities such as public relations and animal science.
A small bit of background on Metigoshe is that we were started back in 1961 and have been doing ministry in the Turtle Mountains of North Dakota ever sense. Each year we serve around 1000 campers in our residential camping programming and around the same number of campers in our day camp programming. Summer staff members will have the opportunity to work with both programs and will work with a large variety of campers of all ages and abilities. Every week at Metigoshe is different and exciting. The main age group that we serve is from 2nd grade to going into their freshman year of college, but also have programming for adults with developmental or physical disabilities, family camp, and grandparents camp.
