When you accept the responsibility of a higher role, it can be hard for you to find the middle of work and life.

What I liked

I liked the experience I received. Working in a professional setting for the first time was a surreal moment. I am glad I got to work over the summer because it prepared me for what I would experience after college when I was looking for jobs.

What I wish was different

I wish it had being a bit more welcoming. It wasn’t necessarily a fun experience, some of my work colleagues were mean and rude to me and that just made the days I worked so terrible. More grace and patience should be given to new recruits, because I had never worked before so I was clueless but the workers were expecting me to know everything in few days.

Advice

Do not take disrespect ever. If you don’t enjoy working your job, quit. Protect your mental health and find a job elsewhere.

The health protocols got in the way like the giant window shield making talking to customers difficult.
