I liked how much McDermott invested in their interns. I felt that they really wanted us at McDermott and that I wasn’t there to do busy work as I worked on a huge project that gave me great work experience.
What I wish was different
I wish I could’ve gotten more trainings and certifications done before the 12 weeks ended that were offered to be paid for by McDermott.
Advice
Be who you are. I got a return offer not because I am really smart. I got an offer because I worked really hard and did things without being asked to as well as I was myself. I laughed in meetings and made some fun jokes to try and make things fun. This lead to the director of corporate IT wanting me back and a part of his team as I got things done while boosting team morale.

What I liked
People were friendly. Work was interesting. Liked seeing a differnt part of the country.
What I wish was different
Sometimes work did get repetitive. I also wished it started a little later in the day. Getting up early took a little getting used to.
Advice
Get to know people early on. It is nice to have friends on the job site.
