Restaurant cashier

May - August 2019 • Aurora, CO

What I liked

I liked how fast-paced it was; I was constantly completing tasks, and that made the time go by fast. I loved interacting customers, especially at the register and being myself with people.

What I wish was different

I did not really like the working atmosphere in that some of the people I worked with were not the friendliest and lots of them lacked professionalism. The management needed improvement and it was not very well run.

Advice

My advice would be to keep a positive attitude and be an example of what you believe. I noticed that being a member of the church and working there made me stick out more than I thought it would, but I was thankful that I felt comfortable enough to be who I was and not be ashamed of it. There were many times also that I felt down or stressed, but I found that when kept a positive attitude, it was so much more bearable.
