MB Financial Bank

Financial Crimes Risk Management Intern

July - August 2018 • Chicago, IL

What I liked

I really enjoyed how much experience I gained in the short amount of time I was there. It was very hands on and I was able to do a lot of work a regular employee would of been able to do. As well learning and growing my communication skills.

IT Security

June - August 2018 • Rosemont, IL

What I liked

The things that I liked was being able to learn about Security in the IT sector. I also loved recording the data within the comp. The employees and the interns were very friendly. They always were helpful and delightful to talk to about anything. The internship had multiple activities for the interns to do. For example, they had different competitions for the entire bank (including interns). The bank was always inviting the interns to different some event or making sure we had everything we needed.

What I wish was different

I wish that we would have done more work. There was a merge going on since MB Financial Bank got bought out by 5/3 bank. The employees were not doing as much work as well. Most people were leaving the bank for another job. I was sitting down at a desk every day and all day for work. I wish I could have been moving around more. Overall, I hoped that I could have learned more in the security sector.

Advice

I piece of advice would be making sure you make connections through your internship. Try to figure out if you're persons who like to sit down all day or get up and get active. Lastly, learn as much as you can. Good or bad internship, learn as much as you can from it and take information towards your passion.
