Social Media Intern

June - August 2018 • Irvine, CA

What I liked

I got to observe many different aspects of social media marketing. My input was requested on multiple projects and the creative ideas I proposed ended up being utilized on more than one occasion. I had a direct hand in our social media management and got to witness the effort needed to create our "Feel Alive" campaign rebrand.

What I wish was different

I wish there had been more direct mentorship from my managers. Also, I was not given an ongoing project until halfway through the internship, so a lot of my time was spent doing nothing. There was also no established intern program where we could get to know each other outside of a few orientation events.

This is more of a working internship rather than a learning one. It's very much like working a full-time job, so be prepared to be an independent learner.
