There isn't much to change about this, but I had some difficulties since it was a virtual internship due to the raging pandemic.

Even if you have no experience doing something, just dive in early and you'll figure it out!

It was remote during COVID, so that was a bit difficult. But that could not be changed at the time :)

* Great intern program with multiple employees supporting you (Manager, sponsor, mentor, and another EDG buddy) * Interesting and challenging software projects that try to be tailored to your interests/background * Learning and using many industry tech/tools/processes * Great compensation * Networking and fun intern social events * Free MathWorks gear

What I wish was different

* This was a remote internship due to COVID, some tech hiccups on day 1. * More exposure to EDG Technical Support side during the internship

Advice

Talk to a lot of different EDG interns and EDG full timers to get a better understanding of the role and diferent tools/resources you can use! There are a ton of people in EDG :)

What I liked

Amazing mentorship opportunities. There are several resources to help you adjust and learn more about the company, as well as to help develop your own technical skills. They expose you to a lot of different aspects of the company as well so you get a good feel for what they do on a day to day basis.

What I wish was different

I wish I had more opportunities to meet other interns; oftentimes I was stuck working on my own project and in my own team. There was little cross-team exchanges which I would have appreciated.

Advice

Work on time management skills! They are extremely crucial to succeed in software roles such as this.
