Instructor

May 2018 - August 2019 • Eden Prairie, MN

What I liked

I liked working with a wide variety of students; I taught early elementary through high school students from a variety of backgrounds.

What I wish was different

I wish that the curriculum was a little bit more flexible. Sometimes I would encounter students that were clearly disengaged from the standard curriculum due to their preference of alternative teaching styles or exceptional abilities in math.

Advice

I would recommend working at Mathnasium to anyone who enjoys teaching and wants to get some experience working with kids- It was a rewarding experience for me and I intend on working there each time I come home from college.

What I liked

Taking on more responsibilities around the center. I enjoyed proposing new ideas and conducting performance evaluations.

Advice

Be patient with the training. It may seem in depth, and you may feel like it takes a long time, but the impact you will have on student's lives will be worth it.
