I loved the ability to work on land and on a boat with hands-on experience in teaching marine science topics to children while working with a small group of coworkers to follow the curriculum standards.
What I wish was different
Nothing really, the children were a bit tough to deal with at times but it was worth it.
Advice
When you start this experience, there are also people who don't know what their doing, so if certain topics are new to you, you will learn as time goes on.

What I liked
Everyone at MSI is truly passionate about their work and very friendly. It was a great work environment!
What I wish was different
The schedule was at times exhausting, but you're made aware of it going into the position.
Advice
If you're looking to get experience in conservation education, the counselor position is a really great starting point, instructors are more than happy to have you take a more active role in lessons!
