MAN Engines & Components

Mechanical Engineering Intern

February - September 2022 • Pompano Beach, FL

What I liked

One of the best things about my internship at MAN is the immense amount of support I received from my boss and the entire staff at MAN-MEC. Having the support, it put me in a position to continually learn, push boundaries and have an overall great experience working with the Off-Road team here in Florida and Germany. Additionally, I really enjoyed the traveling experience and having the opportunity to meet/work with people all over the country! I HIGHLY recommend you apply.

What I wish was different

I wish I had lived closer to the office. My commute would range between 45 minutes up to an hour and 15 minutes each way.

Advice

Aside from engineering, there's much to be learned about the corporate job experience regarding traveling, documenting expense reports, and client relations.

Electrical Engineering Intern

June - December 2021 • Pompano Beach, FL

What I liked

I liked that I was treated like an engineer and not just an intern. I was allowed to spearhead a project that was directed by the EPA. My project manager was very knowledgeable; so, I appreciated him taking the time in order to give me a better understanding of the industry.

What I wish was different

I wish that I was able to travel more during my experience. I was able to travel to California for the project during the summer but was unable to travel in the fall due to my Fall Semester.

Advice

It’s quick pace and high stakes which generally makes an intern nervous. Just remember that the people you’re working with are very knowledgeable and are willing to teach if you’re willing to learn. You’re working on a team so everyone wants to help in order to get the job done.
