I loved getting to see how a church staff functioned from the inside. I loved getting to see special needs ministry, which is something that I did not have previous experience with but something that I had a growing passion for as the summer went by. I loved being included on the church staff and building relationships with those on staff throughout the summer. They truly poured into me and were interested in getting to know me as a person and helping to nurture my growth in Christ, as a person, and in ministry.
What I wish was different
I wish that there had been a bit more of an intern team rather and more community among the interns.
Advice
One piece of advice that I would like to share is to seek to be uncomfortable during your internship. Look for opportunities to do things that are out of your comfort zone because that is where you will learn and grow and allow the summer to change you.
