I loved the experience of being able to work with an individual with an intellectual disability. I saw it as a fantastic resume booster, and I loved getting to know the individual I was working with. We found a lot of tools to help with their independence and I loved seeing their progress throughout the summer.
What I wish was different
I wish the job was not as far away from my home town, and I wish there was more organization of what to do to enhance the individual's independent skills.
