It was a great learning experience that sets you up with so many networking connections. If you're looking to work for a camp, this is one of the best.

What I liked
I love the experiences I had working with kids hands- on. Within the cabins I formed lasting, supportive friendships with my co- counselors and other staff. The connections and memories I made with the kids were life-changing; they impacted my life just as greatly as I tried to impact their's. They taught me to enjoy the little things in life and reminded me that letting loose is just as important as being serious. The swim dock I worked on was beautiful and my co-workers were always understanding. It was a learning experience that allowed me to grow and experience new things.
What I wish was different
I wish that I had spent more of my off- time with other coworkers at different activities. I was always at the swim dock or taking a nap- I never tried the other activities that the camp offered.
Advice
Live in the moment and don't sweat the little stuff. Kids are forgiving and even though the job is heard you are doing the best that you can do.

What I liked
I loved being on the water and boats each day. I loved teaching the campers how to get up on skis and wake boards. I was on the water all summer either driving our various boats or helping campers with their experience. I have always loved being on a boat and was so happy that I was paid to do it this summer.
What I wish was different
I wish that this camp was a Christian camp and I could have taught campers through my faith how to grow as people in their faith.
Advice
There are jobs out there that you can do what you love. I love being on boats and I found a job where I was able to do what I love.
