The King Hussein Foundation, which encompasses the Noor Al Hussein Foundation, is a multidisciplinary development foundation. Since 1985 and throughout the years our guiding principles have been social equity, human security and peace, which led us to progressively develop eight institutions each specialized in a specific development field: economic empowerment, education and leadership, family health, sustainable development and cross-cultural understanding. Women’s and girls’ empowerment, participatory decision-making and research programs have also been cross-cutting through all our programs.
KHF currently has over 950 employees working in centers throughout Amman, business incubators in Irbid, Aqaba, Tafileh, Ajloun, and 18 static and mobile health care clinics in local underserved communities and refugee camps, and in Jordan Microfinance Company (Tamweelcom)’s 32 local branches across Jordan and 1 mobile branch. Moreover, KHF’s reach extends to local communities in all governorates by working jointly with hundreds of community-based organizations as well as private and public institutions through a long-standing referral system. Experienced and well-trained teams from all seven institutions are mobile, enabling complete flexibility in start-up and implementation of programs that address human development and poverty alleviation.
