I liked the hands-on experience of being able to build machines. It gave me more perspective about what to think about when designing machines and making them actually buildable.
What I wish was different
Overall, the experience was quite good, some of my coworkers were tough, but that can be expected anywhere.

Mechanical Engineering Intern

What I liked
The company's atmosphere of hard work and loyalty, the drive to improve, and the excellent mentors and coworkers all made for a great work experience. The variety of projects I worked on for big companies made for great personal experience as well. Excellent internship.
What I wish was different
Wages were good but not great. I came into the summer with more experience than others and was payed the same as them. A more competitive wage for my work experience would have been a good improvement.
Advice
There are times that the work can be a little dry. You may end up reading long, boring RFQs or stuck on the phone with vendors. But it's worth it. When a project comes together and you see your hard work come to life, it is worth it. So be patient.
