Housman Institute is an early childhood training, research, and advocacy institute. Our mission is to promote the building blocks of emotional intelligence from birth for children's lifelong learning, success, mental health and well-being. We offer training, workshops, and programs to teachers, parents, and caregivers in how to effectively support young children's emotional, cognitive and social development. Our flagship evidence-based begin to..ECSEL program is research-informed, integrating neuroscience, child development and education. The program is supported by scientific studies, evidencing significant improvements in critical foundational competencies for young children such as self-regulation, empathy, and other emotional, cognitive and social skills . The Institute works closely with its lab school, Beginnings School and Child Development Center, and shares offices with the school in Weston, MA.
