I loved the mission of HopeTree and the dedicated, compassionate employees. Everyone there, including the residents were very welcoming and friendly. The social worker that I shadowed taught me a lot and invited me to apply for a ob.
What I wish was different
I really wanted to work with the youth program. However, there were too many steps that I needed to take to be able to do this and it would've taken too much time that I didnt have to spare.
Advice
It is very important that you are willing to step out of your comfort zone; that is the only way you can grow. There were many things that I felt unsure of and insecure about, but I tried my best to push those feelings aside in order to gain the best and most fulfilling experience.
