I liked the ability to learn different aspects of the business. Mike, Jimmy and Aly really focus on teaching interns how to do the various different tasks in the operation, they want interns to be able to work independently and problem solve. The atmosphere of getting to work in a sports environment was very fun, and one of the best experiences. Getting to collaborate with fellow interns and learn from others was beneficial in my internship.

Advice
I would suggest learning as much as possible and asking as many questions as possible in order to get the most out of the position. Being able to be an intern was one of the best experiences and learning a lot about different aspects of business is something I will use in future jobs.

This internship gave me the opportunity to learn every aspect of the business. Throughout the season, we were trained in different areas of the ballpark. This helped to build independence and confidence as a professional. We also were able to work collaboratively on team projects and generate new ideas for the season. Summer Intern
March - September 2021 • Bridgewater Township, NJ
What I liked
I enjoyed the working environment and my fellow interns. The internship was paid which was great. Supervisors were available and approachable to help train the staff and answering any questions.
What I wish was different
Due to Covid, there was no internship program last year. Usually prior year interns are available to help train the new incoming interns. Through no fault of the internship program, there was more hands on learning this year.
Advice
Since HomePlate Catering and Hospitality is located at a baseball venue, you are expected to work weekends and every home game, which can mean late nights. If you are passionate about baseball and enjoy that environment, the workday flies.

Summer Intern
February - August 2020 • Bridgewater Township, NJ
What I liked
I loved being a part of a cohesive and hardworking team of employees and interns alike. All of us interns came from different backgrounds and work experiences, but we came together to create a memorable experience for all Somerset Patriots this past summer.
What I wish was different
If COVID-19 was nonexistent, I would have gained more experience and worked more hours on my internship. While the pandemic was unavoidable, I wish Somerset Patriots did more socially-distant activities for fans to enjoy besides the weekend games.
Advice
One piece of advice I would give to all future applicants is to recognize that you will be a fruitful and integral component of the intern team. Remember to work hard and work as a team to shape fans' best experiences!

Suite Attendant
March 2016 • Bridgewater Township, NJ
What I liked
I love the people I work with. I always felt like I could ask questions or advice to better perform my job.
What I wish was different
Shifts could have been better scheduled. There were times when there were too many people on and times when there were not enough people.
Advice
Customer service is key. Always be polite and do whatever you can to help them have a great experience at the ballpark.
