What I liked

I really enjoyed the culture and mindset of Healthfirst. Its a large company, but it feels very close knit and accessible like a startup. Everyone there was so knowledgeable and passionate, it was inspiring. My mentors and co-workers cared about my professional development, but they also were flexible and allowed me to change my projects and focus to reflect the type of work I wanted to explore more, which helped make this internship a great learning experience.

What I wish was different

I came in at a time where my department was undergoing a lot of changes, so it was a bit chaotic. I wish I had been there when things were more calm and organized, but at the same time, it was very interesting to see how much change can happen in a large company in a relatively short amount of time.

Advice

Don't be afraid to be honest with your mentors and co-workers: if you don't like something about the work, let them know, because it's completely okay to not love every second of a job or internship. Sometimes the project can be changed, but other times its essential and just needs to get done. That's the nature of work and thats completely okay!
