It was my first time being in the engineering "field" and it just makes me more excited that i've decided to pursue this career. It's awesome to work together in a group of real engineers and they respect your opinion on what ever the subject matter is. Some of my ideas were even incorporated into final designs.
What I wish was different
Not having to go from Utah to California would have been great. Next year i'm going to be looking around here in Utah for a summer internship.
Advice
It is absolutely necessary and vital that you get some experience in the "field" while you are in school. Even if you aren't in engineering you should still pursue an internship and really see what goes on under the figurative "hood" of your future career.
