Field work experience, court experience, paperwork experience. I felt like I was an employee there were my efforts were valued in the cases that we worked in.
What I wish was different
I wish there would have been a full team of interns working at the office together where as a team we would be able to join efforts. Also, I wish it would have been an experience that would be more directly related to job seeking and job acquisition. I understand that not everyone is in the job market but I would have wanted to do an internship in a place where I could think that there was a job waiting for me if I did a great job. It would have also been a plus to get paid, although I understand that is a very big stretch within sociology work.
Advice
Work hard and network with anyone you can while you are there.
