The Grosse Pointe Public School System takes great pride in offering an educational experience that meets the needs of every student, every day. We serve 8,500 students in two high schools, three middle schools, seven elementary schools, and our Barnes Early Childhood building.
The learning environment is enhanced by six foreign languages with Spanish instruction beginning in the elementary schools, elementary magnet and multiage programs, secondary honors classes, and 25 advanced placement courses. Fine arts, vocal and instrumental music also start in elementary school and lead to Grammy-award winning music programs and nationally recognized art programs at both high schools. We offer free young fives, all day kindergarten in every elementary, and a district multi-age classroom for grades 1-3.
GPPSS fields 30 different sports programs at each high school which are enhanced by community offerings through the Neighborhood Club, Grosse Pointe War Memorial and others for hockey, lacrosse, soccer, football and more.
