Hands-on experience with an NGO that was set up as a way to provide help for those at the margins of Brazilian society. Also had the ability to work to help and support the surrounding area of Rio de Janeiro
What I wish was different
The head coordinator was not fit to run the programs. As a native to the area, i knew better than the typical tourist/volunteer. He was at times very unprofessional
Advice
Make sure to do your research, on the company along with the country you’re visiting. Overall it’s a great experience and they welcomed me as their own.
