What I liked

I loved working with customers and making their boating experience as pleasant as possible. Receiving compliments about efficient customer service is a great feeling.

What I wish was different

I wish I could have known more information about the boats themselves. Often times I was stuck in a loop trying to answer questions about individual boats when I was working with customers.

Advice

Customer service and talking to people on the phone at any position or job is a crucial experience to understand.

What I liked

Very fun and active job, made good relationships and learned good skills. This job enhanced my customer service skill set while also provided depth to my knowledge base about watercraft and dock management.

What I wish was different

I wish I would have been able to work more. While I was working about 43 hours a week, it was done over about 4 days (the days were very long), and I wish I would've been given opportunities to work maybe one more shift a week.

Advice

Never be afraid to say you do not know something. It can be challenging and scary to say you don't know something, but people want to share knowledge with you at work and this information that you are missing can be very important to your development in your position.
