There were so many things I liked about the internship it is hard to narrow it down. But, the people I worked with were so kind and began to feel like family to me in New York. I keep in touch with them even now. I also really liked that I was never treated like "an intern." I was given real tasks that have helped me advance in my skill and knowledge.

Really throw yourself into the work. Commit to your time there and you will have the best experience. It is true, you will get out of an experience what you put into it.

Really cool opportunity to network and meet some really prominent people. Met some celebrities too. Got to create my own block that aired on TV and they loved their interns! They helped us so much and threw a going away party for us!

Could be slow some days with work to do

What I liked
I was out in the field producing and reporting on a lot of important events such as the 2019 Democratic Primary Presidential Debate in Miami, the Homestead Child Detention Center, the NALEO conference, and Trump's presidential campaign announcement in Orlando, Florida. I also learned how to put together news packages and one of my packages aired on Fox News.
What I wish was different
I wish I had been able to do more in-studio work and more on-camera live shoots in the studio.
Advice
Deadlines and time management can make or break you in the news. If you can't get a story out on time and quickly, other news organizations will beat you to it and you'll lose your audience for the story.
