Four Seasons Swim Club

Management Intern

April 2021 • Dayton, OH

What I liked

The community at Four Seasons really makes for a great summer of managing and working with employees, board members, and customers. The experience I got working here was unquantifiable, and continues to pay off in the skills I developed along the way.

What I wish was different

As part of my job as a management intern at Four Seasons, I worked to improve the training, forms, and resources available to employees; however, seeing many others go through the same process without the same experience as I have, many people had difficulties adjusting to the atmosphere of the job and their responsibilities. I worked on creating training videos and documents for new management staff to help improve the learning curve, but there is still a ways to go.

Advice

I would recommend anyone wanting to work as a management intern at Four Seasons get in touch with the board and ask what they need to start thinking about before the summer begins- the sooner you start getting work set up, the better your lifeguards and snack bar workers will be, and the more prepared the whole team will be to have a great summer!

assistant manager

March - September 2020 • Centerville, OH

What I liked

I liked the environment of this internship. I also enjoyed working with my manager and the executive board of this company.

What I wish was different

I wish that this internship would have occurred before the pandemic happened because not only did it push back our start date, but it changed the way almost every single operation the business preformed previously. I liked being able to see the change I put into place and helped create but, I believe the members would have been more satisfied if things were back to normal.

Advice

One piece of advice for the next person in my position would be: have patience. Almost everyday a procedure is going to need changed and the younger employees at this pool will need mentored in certain things. Dont just try to throw them into a new position or make them do a brand new thing without showing them or being there to help them.

What I liked

Great atmosphere and great people. One of the best summers that I have ever had.

What I wish was different

Wish that there was more that I could do with the pool and put more of my input in regarding the board for the pool.

Advice

Just be yourself with the patrons and the staff and you'll have a great summer
