What I liked

When I first joined on in the Call Center here at doTERRA, I discovered just how incredible the culture is. I have never really been excited to come to work until doTERRA. The management within doTERRA exemplifies what a leader really should be. They are constantly helping us to succeed and achieve our best. they provide many opportunities to improve and grow. One of my favorite things about doTERRA is they give us the ability to adjust our schedule 3 times a year to meet our school needs. They truly want you to succeed in all aspects of your life, not just at work.

What I wish was different

Quite honestly, nothing. Of course, all companies with have their flaws if you look hard enough, but I have been thoroughly impressed with this company and their standards and behaviors.

Advice

If you want to succeed and are willing to work for it, this is the place to go. You will only ever get out of it what you are willing to put in. If you have a negative mindset all the time, then prepare to not enjoy your experience, although that is your fault and not doTERRA's. Do you best and be positive and you will find this to be one of the most enjoyable jobs you have ever had.

What I liked

I'm forever a doTERRA fangirl because this company places high importance on the company culture and values. They genuinely care about their people and the impact they're making in the world, as well as individual lives. I've met countless leaders here who have taken the time to invest in me and my personal development, even when it doesn't directly benefit them. That's simply the culture here. The leadership is phenomenal and will make you want to grow within the company so you don't have to leave!

What I wish was different

I wish every department placed a high importance on personal development. It is more relevant to some areas than others, but it still would be great for everyone to have as great of an experience as I've had. However, this is largely dependent on the individual managers because leadership does try to promote this with everyone.

Advice

Learn to love networking! It can be scary at first to put yourself out there, but networking is invaluable, especially at doTERRA. By reaching out and getting to know others you will not only build relationships but also make connections that will help you to move up and make a name for yourself. Especially if you want to be here long-term. I definitely wouldn't be where I am today if I didn't take the leap and ask others to mentor me.

What I liked

I absolutely love working at doTERRA!! I have never been with a company so focused on personal growth and determined to help me succeed. I sincerely feel like the leadership at doTERRA cares about me as a person and cares about my growth inside and outside the work environment. Working for doTERRA while going to school has been the best employer choice I've made while attending school. I sincerely feel like they help me put my education first by providing opportunities throughout the year to change my schedule to work with the classes I need to take. My supervisors support and encourage me in my efforts to get an education. Another thing that I love about working at doTERRA is the cultural environment. I sincerely feel like they care about my concerns and actually listens if I have complaints or feedback. I love the team environment and feel that I have friends all around me that are cheering me on. I don't feel there is any pressure of competing against one another at all. It's a very uplifting professional environment. Overall, in my personal opinion, best place to work while going to school. I am so grateful I started working here when I did!

What I wish was different

I wish I would've had the courage to take the opportunities for growth that doTERRA offers their employees. I waited a long time before stepping up and getting promoted even though they were basically handing it to me at the very beginning.

Advice

Your attitude is everything. If you choose to have an open and outward mindset you will flourish! If you choose to look for the negative and be pessimistic you will find it. Just like in most things in life if you are determined and want to succeed, at doTERRA you will. Every company has its faults but I would suggest that you focus on all the wonderful things doTERRA does and address the ones you don't like to your supervisor and they will always take care of you either way.

What I liked

Culture: There is a very strong, ethical culture at doTERRA that comes all the way from the top down. I always felt empowered to make the right choice and knew that my supervisors would back me up. The company frequently shows their gratitude for their employees with company parties, merch, bonuses, etc. They didn't layoff a single employee at the beginning of COVID. Instead they purchased Work from home equipment for all their employees and even paid a 20% "hazard pay" and gave free lunch every day to employees who were still required to come to campus. Pay: 7/10 The pay is pretty average for entry level Call Center positions in the Utah Valley area. Pay scale is different depending on where you end up working within the company. While the pay isn't the highest around, I never felt that I was undercompensated for my work. Benefits: 10/10 (for part time employee). FT and PT employees get free product from the employee store every month. Merch is given out throughout the year, random employee gifts from time to time. After three months all employees (FT or PT) qualify for the 401k which is a 4% match when you contribute 5% and is 100% vested. They also have a new clinic that employees can visit for a discounted price (when it first opened, preventative work like physicals or blood work were free for all employees, no insurance required. I'm not sure if that is still the case now that it is open to the public as well). Schedule Flexibility: 10/10. This would vary depending on the market or team that you're on, but even while I was on phones, doTERRA was incredibly flexible with my schedule. With each new semester I've had a new schedule based on my classes and it's never been denied. Again, that's not the case for everyone but schedule flexibility has been the biggest factor in keeping me there for two years now. Upward Mobility: 8/10. Like most employees in Member Services, I started on the phones. Within 6-7 month I was able to move around within the markets and then accepted a position on WFM. There are constantly positions or projects that Contact Agents can apply for to gain experience within the company. It's definitely more limited if you are PT only and can't go Full time because of school or other obligations, but I've been part time my entire time there and still enjoyed it.

What I wish was different

While upward mobility is possible in the CC, making the jump to the corporate office is not very feasible for PT employees. I would prefer more opportunities for students to get hands on business experience outside of the summer internships doTERRA offers.

Advice

Assuming you start in Member Services like many new employees at doTERRA, work hard and be consistent in the little things as a contact agent. There will be plenty of positions to apply for and your TL/Manager's feedback on you is essential to be seriously considered for any of those positions.

What I liked

I think doTERRA really tries to take care of the employees. They give amazing opportunities for the employees to succeed. They encourage growth and want all of the employees to move up in the company, which comes with pay raises and such. They also recognize hard work very well with many rewards and prizes. I just think the culture is very great at doTERRA.

Advice

Be sure to go into the job with an attitude of service. The motto in the Member Service department is "Empathy and Effort" and that is something that we try to focus on all the time.

What I liked

Applying for and accepting a job from dо̄TERRA ranks on my list of Top 5 Best Decisions I have ever made. From my first day to the present, I have loved this job (even on the hard days). Everything about it is amazing: Some of my best friends are at work: Never have I ever had such close work relationships at any other job. Even during the Pandemic, when all the contact we had was over Microsoft Teams, I felt loved and supported. The supervisors and managers care: Perhaps the most distinguishing factor of dо̄TERRA is that the Team Leads and Managers actually care about us. They want us to succeed. They want us to move up through the company, and they're service oriented: there to make sure we have what we need to do well. It's because of their help and support that I've been able to make it where I am in the two and a half years I've been here. I've also always felt very personally connected to my immediate higher-ups. They've always been invested in me as a human being. I've learned multi-purposed skills: dо̄TERRA has taught me some epic skills that I can use inside and outside of work. Obviously, it has helped me be comfortable on the phone (I hate phone calls) and taught me how to de-escalate tense situations, but it has also given me other capabilities such as public speaking, leadership, and time management. Flexible but steady scheduling As a student, sometimes I find myself needing to take inconveniently-timed classes. However—as an adult that needs a steady, dependable income—I also want to know that I will always have enough hours to cover my basic needs. Most people can't have both. At dо̄TERRA, I can. doTERRA offers so many different PT and FT shifts in different markets to fit agent needs. dо̄TERRA spoils us rotten One of the more common complaints I hear is that dо̄TERRA's pay starts a little lower than the average call center. However, I don't think the average call center treats their employees anywhere near as awesomely as doTERRA treats us. I've gotten: - Amazing benefits/PTO - Thousands of dollars worth of free product and non-dо̄TERRA-product gifts (I will never want for luggage or backpacks again). - Tuition Reimbursement/Performance Bonuses - Travel, food, and fun discounts elsewhere - Work from home opportunities

What I wish was different

Sometimes I wish communication was a little better between departments (it would make my job easier) but that's it.

Advice

Work on your attitude and impression management. Your people skills will get you farther than your technical ones. doTERRA is all about positive and uplifting culture, so people who can contribute to that culture succeed.

What I liked

I have worked at dōTERRA since 2017 started out as a customer service representative, and have had various positions since then. I like the growth that is possible here as well as the culture of the company. I even had the opportunity to count my current position as an internship for my degree. I like that I have been able to work FullTime while also doing FullTime school.

What I wish was different

Wish I would have been able to move up to different positions a little faster than I did.

Advice

You get out what you put in here. If you want to move up in the company you have to be motivated to do so. Is a good place to build connections and build future career opportunities.
