About Dept of Children Youth and their Families (DCYF)

San Francisco is a wonderful place to raise children and is considered one of the nation’s leaders in serving children and youth. One of the reasons is the work of the Department of Children, Youth & Their Families (DCYF).

DCYF works with community-based organizations, city departments, San Francisco Unified School District and other partners to provide a variety of children, youth and family services. The department funds over $80 million in services such as after-school activities, violence prevention and intervention (VPI), youth workforce development, education, health and wellness, family resource centers, early childcare and education. DCYF is one of the largest grant makers in the city funding over 450 community-based programs. Visit the department’s website at www.dcyf.org for more information.
