-If you take an unpaid internship, make sure you are getting as much out of it as you possibly can. Write big stories and try to get your name out there

I loved the culture of the workplace at D. My co-workers and fellow interns were welcoming and it made for a collaborative and enjoyable experience.

Be prepared to pursue your own stories on your own time. Be a go-getter and pitch lots of ideas rather than waiting for instruction.
