Company dynamic was fantastic! Everyone is young and eager to attack their projects. They were very welcoming to the interns and treated us as peers rather than subordinates. They were very helpful in teaching me how to do the job better and had constructive feedback on my designs.
What I wish was different
I wish it were in person. Most of my work was done from home which made it difficult to connect. Obviously, these are difficult times for everyone and this is not a negative aspect about CMI in particular. It just would have made for a better experience if I could have been in the office.
Advice
Do not be afraid to ask questions. I learned more from asking questions and meeting the team personally than I did from our weekly meetings. Try to connect to the company rather than to your responsibilities. It is arguably more valuable in the early stage of employment.

Project Engineer Intern

What I liked
I loved just about every aspect of my internship, from my work hours to my assigned tasks. The office has low wall cubicles, so it's easy to see who is there in case you have any questions. The project managers, although busy, are always glad to help, with just one condition: if it's not a game changing question, wait until you have several. The company has many events and are inclusive to everyone that works there, including the interns. They had plenty of things for me to work with during the entire time I was there and I learned a lot.
What I wish was different
Nothing.
Advice
Take some time to struggle on something on your own before asking questions so when you're asked questions about your approach, you have an answer.
