Courage Reins is one of the most positive and influential places that I have ever had the pleasure of working/interning at! The staff is kind and they genuinely want everyone to succeed in their goals as well as give plenty of experience to improve on skills. They care for everyone despite their background and experience. Overall, it is a great place to volunteer/intern/work!
What I wish was different
The only thing that I would wish was slightly different is getting more time to practice horse development skills based on the Parelli games. While there were moments I was able to do some horse development, it was not a lot. However, if you were to ask someone to teach you, Courage Reins would help you find resources to do so.
Advice
My piece of advice is to not be afraid to ask for help or training. Courage Reins has excellent barn managers and instructors that want to help everyone get better at different skills! I personally was able to get better and learn new skills because I asked for guidance.

What I liked
I love Courage Reins! It was an amazing internship experience. I loved the organization, staff, volunteers, and horses there. The horses were well behaved, calm, and happy. I enjoyed working with a wide variety of participants of all ages. The atmosphere is so positive and safe there. I'd love to work there in the future.
What I wish was different
The only thing I can think of was the weather in May. It had been raining so much and it made daily work take longer than usual.
Advice
Be consistently there. A lot of times, my fellow interns or volunteers wouldn't be there consistently. I made sure I was there when I said I'd be there and continue to go throughout the summer. I learned so much more by being consistently being actively involved there.
