I have a lot of friends from high school who work as lifeguards and it’s always good to see them again. Lifeguarding is also pretty easy money which is nice.
What I wish was different
I wish I had gotten an internship or studied abroad instead. All the job experience I have is from lifeguarding which is not the best look on a resume. I want to broaden my horizons and aim for the top but I can’t do that if I have to sit in a chair for 35 hours a week...
Advice
Once you get certified as a lifeguard it’s very easy money. Especially in Charles county. They’re understaffed and need more lifeguards so as long as you aren’t problematic they will 100% rehire you for the next summer. The wages are also supposed to increase every year for the next few years so there’s that too.
