The Center for Technology & Venture Commercialization (TVC) at the U of U evaluates about 200 new disclosures annually and has approximately 1,300 unique technologies in its portfolio, with a majority coming from the Colleges of Medicine, Engineering and Science. Approximately 500 technologies are licensed, while the remaining 800 are spread across various phases of commercial development. TVC utilizes startups as one vehicle for commercializing technologies, supporting the formation of 10-20 each year.
