What I wish was different

I’m still currently in the position and actively making sure I can learn and do as much as I can before my time is up.

Advice

Training Camp Communications Intern

July - August 2018 • Spartanburg, SC

What I liked

Getting to interact with the players on a daily basis and getting to know them on a more personal level was probably one of the greatest parts of my job. Seeing how communications in the NFL are ran, especially when news is being broken every waking minute of the day.

What I wish was different

I wish we had been able to work throughout the entire pre-season.

Advice

A huge part of my job was interacting with the players and for anyone, that can be very intimidating. Just being brave enough to jump out of your comfort zone can really be helpful. Keeping an open mind, show up and doin't just do what is asked of you but go beyond what is required. Jobs in sports are few and far between and it's all about connections and experience. Gain as much as you can and allow your employer to see why you're an asset and not just another intern.
