What I liked

I have been going to camp since I was nine years old. Working at camp has always been the most fulfilling job, and having the opportunity to spearhead a department and give back to the place I grew up was so meaningful.

What I wish was different

Nothing. It was everything I could have wanted.

Give your all. The more you give, the more you'll get.

What I liked

I loved the ability to work with children and supervising people my age. The leadership skills I gained are invaluable.

What I wish was different

Advice

Being a camp counselor might not sound glamorous, but it truly is one of the most rewarding jobs. The interpersonal, problem solving, time management, and creativity skills gained while working at summer camps are ones that would be hard to garner in a typical internship.
