I loved the community and the work! I had the chance to develop very personal connections with the people I worked closely with throughout the summer that will continue after the contract ended. The work is challenging and extremely rewarding. Camp Bethel is very forward with acceptance and accommodations to fit everyone's needs in the workplace.

What I liked
The community. I have found life long connections at Camp Bethel. Being able to work along side an amazing team of dedicated, hard working, and intentional young adults over the past few summers has been a truly foundational experience not just professionally but also personally. It is a community that has taught me what unconditional love is and how rewarding hard work is. As the assistant program coordinator, my job was to address conflict in a mature and professional manner. I learned conflict resolution, how to care for others in a trauma informed way, and practical wilderness skills (first aid, CPR, camping out in the woods etc). Every young person should have a job like Camp Bethel. There is truly no place like it.

What I liked
I loved finding such a wonderful, kind-hearted community that is just full of love to share with everyone who comes through the gates of camp. Being in the mountains and in nature, learning how to create a safe, loving, and fun environment for staff and campers and anyone else was such an impactful and fulfilling experience. This place is more than a job, it’s a second home.

Camp Counselor

What I liked
The community at Camp Bethel is incredible. 25 people spending 10 weeks together with practically no internet. Additionally, rock climbing, repelling, hiking, tubing, shooting and so many more activities kept me always busy.
What I wish was different
I wish it could have been slightly longer so that I could have spent even more time up there.
Advice
If you have never worked at a camp before, be prepared for an exhausting amount of work.
